September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month and it is the perfect opportunity for our elementary students to kick off this year’s “Compassionate Kids Club” – It’s PJs for Patients! Cancer is something that, unfortunately, affects us all on some level. Most of us know someone who has battled or is currently battling cancer. One out of every 330 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20. Many pediatric cancer patients spend their days in pajamas so we are having this pajama themed fundraising event. On Friday, September 25th, students can come to school dressed in their pajamas for a minimum $1.00 donation. All donated funds will be given to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to further research efforts in the battle against childhood cancers. Lemonade can be purchased at 12:00 noon dismissal at the front and back doors and at 4:00 PM dismissal at the front door for $0.25/cup. Full day students may purchase lemonade during the lunch hour for $0.25 as well. We would love to see everyone dressed all comfy and cozy in their PJs on Friday!
